FTP Server Error 550 – Can’t Access File
We run a lot of secure FTP with FTPS, typically using FileZilla Server on Windows servers. If you find yourself seeing 550 errors while trying to upload files to the server, chances are your FileZilla server is running under the Windows SYSTEM account, and it does not have write access to the directory you are writing to. Save yourself some trouble by running FileZilla as a domain user (or local user) that you can ensure has permissions to the folder to where you are writing.
Oracle Invests Over $1 Billion in Middleware 11g
Oracle’s 11g Middleware management has thrown out a stat that might make your head spin. If it doesn’t, it probably should a little. For the Middleware 11g product line, they have spent over 16,000,000 (sixteen million) hours on quality assurance and testing. You can do some various forms of computation, but that gets me somewhere to a minimum cost near half-a-billion dollars on testing. They claim something similar for development time (over 10,000 person years which — by my calculations — is even more than 16,000,000 hours). BPMN 2.0 vs BPEL (Oracle BPM VS SOA Suite)
This post covers Oracle Open World Insights, followed by a BPEL/BPMN comparison, and design discussion. This is an interesting topic to me, since very little has been published and the product direction was clearly shown at OOW. I have also seen the difficulties of BPMN round tripping, which leads me to believe BPMN 2.0 is going to be great for functional process models, but will enforce a rigid process architecture on the technical model, leaving developers with a process architecture that is difficult to work with.
