I believe you can upgrade 11.1.0.6 to 11.1.0.7 with patch 6890831.

I did read in docs (when I originally posted) the note about avoiding the client intended for Windows 2008 when installing on Windows 2003. So unless something has changed with that download and/or the instructions, I would probably opt to upgrade.

Let us know what you go with.

thanks, it took some locating to find the 6890831 patchset file. there’s also patch 8553515 on top of it (patchset bundle 13). 14 is due out soon.

Reading doc 161549.1 says patch bundle 14 due in June so I might wait for that one. Bundle notes are in 560295.1.

I have a stmt from Oracle on Windows7:

    Oracle Database releases “9iR2 (9.2.0.x), 10gR1 (10.1.0.x), 10gR2 (10.2.0.x) and 11gR1 (11.1.0.x)” are not Certified/Supported to install/run on Microsoft Windows 7.

“Microsoft Windows 7″ certification will begin with “Oracle Database 11gR2 (11.2.0.x)”. That means, Oracle Database 11gR2 will be the first Oracle Database product certified/supported to install/run on “Microsoft Windows 7″.

By the way, Windows7/11gR2 is due to be out before July 2010.
