Businesses using Google Apps have a contact directory that is available to users from their web browser. However on a mobile application, the directory is not directly accessible. To work around this, you can use the ‘Contacts’ App with a connected Google Account.
Initially you want to make sure your Google Apps account is connected to your iPhone. To do this:
Open Settings
Scroll down to Mail, Contacts, Calendars
Ensure that your Google Apps account is listed under Accounts. If not, click New Account and follow the steps that follow.
Once you have the Account linked to your iPhone, the below steps will help you navigate to the directory search:
- Launch the Contacts app.
- Go to the Groups selection screen.
- Select Global Address List
- Search for a contact.
You can search for users in your organization using this method even if they’re not listed as contacts on your iPhone.
